The highly anticipated PUBG Mobile Nepal Series (PMNS) is back with its 2023 edition, promising intense battles, fierce competition, and a massive prize pool. The tournament will showcase the best PUBG Mobile teams in Nepal, with Team T2K, last year's champions, eager to defend their title. Let's dive into the details of this thrilling esports event.
Open Qualifiers Set the Stage
From May 27th to June 3rd, teams across Nepal will clash in the open qualifiers for a chance to secure their spot in the main tournament. With only 2,048 teams making the cut from the registration pool, the competition will be intense. These teams will be divided into 128 groups of 16 teams each, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Round of 256.
Group Stages Test the Best
The Group Stage-1 will take place from June 5th to June 8th, where the 256 qualified teams will battle it out in 16 groups of 16 teams each. Each team will play two matches, and the top four teams from each group will progress to the Round of 64.
In the Round of 64, the 64 remaining teams will be divided into four groups of 16 teams. These teams will compete in a series of six matches, with the top six teams from each group moving on to the Round of 24.
Thrilling Showdown in Semi-Finals and Grand Finals
The Round of 24 will see the final 24 teams divided into three groups of eight teams. Over three days, teams will participate in a round-robin format, playing 12 matches each. The top 16 teams from the semi-finals will advance to the Grand Finals, scheduled from June 23rd to June 25th.
In the Grand Finals, the 16 qualifying teams will battle it out for the ultimate honor of becoming the PMNS 2023 champions. The teams will compete based on their cumulative scores on the leaderboard over the three-day event.
Massive Prize Pool at Stake
The PMNS 2023 boasts a total prize pool of NPR 10,00,000. The winners will walk away with NPR 3,20,000, while the second and third-placed teams will receive NPR 1,50,000 and NPR 1,00,000, respectively. The fourth and fifth-placed teams will be awarded NPR 75,000, and the sixth and seventh-placed teams will receive NPR 60,000. Teams securing the eighth to sixteenth positions will not go home empty-handed, as they will be awarded NPR 10,000 each. Additionally, an MVP (Most Valuable Player) will be recognized with a prize of NPR 10,000.
Eligibility and Rules
Participants must be 16 years of age or older as of the Tournament start date and meet applicable age requirements of ratings authorities and mobile platform rating systems. Each team must maintain a regional identity, as this is for only Nepal so there can't be any non resident of Nepal involved(i.e those who don't have Nepali citizenship).
Player Equipment and Scoring
Players are required to participate using mobile phone handheld devices running the Android or iOS operating systems. The use of peripheral devices, such as adapters, controllers, or emulators, is strictly prohibited.
Scoring in each tournament game will be based on the final elimination count, in-game placement, and compensation points. Placement points will be awarded based on the team's final standing, and every elimination will earn one point.
In case of ties, tiebreakers will be determined based on various factors, including the number of first placements, accumulated placement points, accumulated kills, and placement in the most recent match.
Exciting Compensation Points
Compensation points will be awarded to teams if a character is pulled back up to the sky with a parachute before landing and gets killed by an enemy team during the second landing or within 60 seconds upon the second landing. The affected player must report the incident to the tournament admin and submit the recording file of the game screen for verification.
