NO CSA PARTNER TEAM invited IN PMGO 2024 PRELIMS

According to some sources, the PMGO Brazil 2024 is setting the stage for what could be one of the most talked-about tournaments in the realm of mobile gaming. With the preliminaries poised to select eight teams from the qualifier finals, the tournament format was already generating buzz. However, the real surprise came with the announcement of the invited teams: 16 partner teams were to receive direct invitations, with seven teams from the EMEA region, seven from the Americas, and a mere two from SEA. But what caught everyone off-guard was the conspicuous absence of any team from the Central South Asia (CSA) region.

The exclusion of CSA teams is a shock to many, especially considering the region's strong presence in the global competitive scene. Notable teams like Stalwart Esports, DRS Gaming, and 4Merical Vibes, which have been prominent participants in the global championship—with Stalwart Esports finishing second and 4Merical Vibes securing a fourth-place finish—were not on the invitation list. Adding to the surprise, DRS Gaming,  Skyforce,( the latter known for its previous players now with Stalwart Esports, were also left out. also they were the champions of PMSL South Asia Qualifiers) This omission has raised eyebrows and led to speculations about the criteria and decision-making process behind the invitations.

The exclusion is particularly poignant for the CSA region, which has demonstrated its prowess and competitive spirit on the global stage. Teams like Stalwart Esports and 4Merical Vibes have not only shown exceptional skill but have also garnered a significant following, contributing to the growing popularity of mobile esports globally. Their absence from such a prominent tournament not only disappoints fans but also raises questions about the opportunities for competitive play and recognition for teams from the CSA region.

If the sources are correct, this decision by Tencent, the organizing body behind PMGO, could be seen as a significant oversight. It not only overlooks the achievements and potential of CSA teams but also diminishes the diversity and competitive integrity of the tournament. The inclusion of teams from a broad range of regions is crucial for fostering a truly global competitive environment, where the best teams from across the world can compete on an equal footing.

As the tournament progresses, it will be interesting to see how this situation unfolds and whether the feedback from the community will lead to changes in future editions. For now, PMGO Brazil 2024 remains a topic of intense discussion, highlighting the ever-evolving dynamics of competitive esports and the importance of inclusivity in building a global community that celebrates the best of competitive gaming.
