President Ramchandra Poudel himself made the announcement, signaling a significant leap forward for Nepal's presence in the global gaming arena.

The decision comes as part of a broader initiative by the National Sports Council of Nepal to embrace the rapidly growing realm of eSports. To spearhead this endeavor, the government has officially established the eSports Association of Nepal (ESAN), highlighting its commitment to nurturing and promoting this dynamic form of competitive gaming.

Recognizing the immense potential of eSports on the world stage, the government has prioritized the organization of a major international tournament within its policy and programs. This move underscores Nepal's ambition to position itself as a key player in the future of global sports, embracing the technological advancements driving the evolution of athletic competition.

Moreover, in a collaborative effort with various video gaming companies and private event organizers, ESAN is gearing up to host two major eSports events during the Jestha and Ashar months of this year. These events promise to showcase the burgeoning talent within Nepal's gaming community while providing a platform for players to compete on a national scale.

The newfound focus on eSports has been championed by Sports Minister Birajbhakta Shrestha, who has pledged to prioritize the development of this emerging sports genre. With his unwavering dedication, Minister Shrestha aims to bring forth innovative programs and allocate resources to elevate Nepal's standing in the global eSports landscape.

As anticipation builds for the international competition slated to take place on Nepalese soil, it is evident that the government is wholeheartedly embracing eSports as a vital component of its sporting agenda. With a special emphasis placed on fostering talent and facilitating international exchanges, Nepal is poised to emerge as a frontrunner in the thrilling world of competitive gaming.
