The 2024 PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC) is officially slated to take place at the ExCel Auditorium in London, England. This highly anticipated tournament, which boasts a staggering $3 million (~£2.34 million) prize pool, will serve as the grand finale to the game’s 2024 esports season.
The announcement was made by James Yang, Senior Director of Global Esports at Level Infinite, during the ongoing PUBG MOBILE World Cup at the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The PMGC will run from December 6th to 8th, culminating in an exciting Grand Finals at the ExCel Auditorium. Tickets for this prestigious event will go on sale to the public next month.
PMGC Format and Qualification Changes
The format for the 2024 PMGC will closely resemble that of the 2023 iteration, which was held in the Ülker Sports and Event Hall in Istanbul, Turkey. However, this year brings some changes to the tournament’s qualification slots following the introduction of the regional PUBG MOBILE Super League (PMSL) series earlier this year.
A total of 48 teams will compete in the PMGC, with 15 spots reserved for invited teams and the remaining 33 spots allocated among global regions. Teams can secure a spot through their respective region’s PMSL tournaments or by ranking among the top PMGC points earners in their region.
New Metro Royale Esports Circuit
In addition to the PMGC announcements, Level Infinite has introduced a new competitive circuit centered around PUBG MOBILE’s Metro Royal game mode. This new circuit, titled Metro Royale Esports, will feature intense competition in the PvPvE mode, where players must secure and extract valuable loot while battling against both real enemy players and AI opponents.
