Tech giant AMD could be working on a new lineup of gaming-focused processors, the Ryzen 9000X3D series, according to recent source code data from ASUS motherboard listings. While neither AMD nor ASUS has officially confirmed these details, the speculation has generated significant interest among PC enthusiasts.

The rumor emerged following the launch of AMD's Ryzen 9000 series, which experienced delays due to manufacturing errors. Specifically, some units, such as the Ryzen 7 9700X, were misprinted as the "Ryzen 9 9700X." Despite this hiccup, AMD successfully released the Ryzen 9000 series with the Ryzen 5 9600X and Ryzen 7 9700X debuting on August 8, and the Ryzen 9 9900X and 9950X following a week later.

According to a translated report from the German site ComputerBase, the source code from an ASUS website listing its X870 and X870E motherboards included references to AMD Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs. These processors are expected to utilize AMD's 3D V-Cache technology, which enhances gaming performance by increasing cache memory. This technology was previously featured in the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and 7800X3D.

The ASUS X870E and X870 motherboards, which support PCIe 5.0 and DDR5, are mentioned as compatible with the potential Ryzen 9000X3D CPUs. Other chipsets like the B850 and B840 were also listed, although details were sparse.

As of now, AMD has not provided official confirmation regarding the Ryzen 9000X3D series or any additional CPUs beyond the recently released Ryzen 9000 lineup. However, gamers and tech enthusiasts may get more insights soon. AMD is scheduled to host an event at Gamescom 2024 on August 23, which will take place in Hall 8 and be broadcast on AMD's Twitch channel. No specific product announcements have been confirmed for this event, but it may offer clues about AMD's future plans.

For now, PC gamers will need to stay tuned for official updates from AMD and ASUS regarding the potential Ryzen 9000X3D processors and any other upcoming releases.
