On August 14, 2024, survival game enthusiasts will have a reason to celebrate as Creep Jar’s Green Hell makes its debut on current-generation consoles. The highly realistic survival title will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, offering both new and veteran players a chance to tackle the challenges of the Amazonian jungle with enhanced graphics and features.
Originally released in Early Access in August 2018, Green Hell immerses players in the harsh realities of survival in the jungle, where they must contend with threats like caimans, jaguars, and scorpions. The game, which has been available on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, also offers a VR version on Steam and Oculus Quest 2.
The current-generation release of Green Hell will feature updated graphics and include the latest content updates previously exclusive to the PC version. These updates include new features such as Storage and Transportation, Fortifications and Building, Flamekeeper, and Animal Husbandry. New players can purchase the game for $24.99, with a 20% discount available until August 28.
For those who already own Green Hell on previous-generation consoles, a free update will be available on August 14 to upgrade to the current-generation version. However, players will need to start a new game as save transfers between versions will not be supported. Additionally, crossplay between consoles will not be available due to differences in content and performance capabilities.
This release marks the first significant development for Green Hell since its showcase at the February 2023 State of Play. Fans are hopeful that this update could signal future expansions or new features, as the advanced technology of current-gen consoles might allow for additional content or gameplay enhancements. While no further updates have been confirmed by Creepy Jar, the potential for new additions remains exciting.
