Exciting news for gamers: the open beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Xbox has announced that Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members will get early access to the beta, marking a significant milestone as this will be the first new Call of Duty title launching on Xbox Game Pass.

Beta Details:

Early Access: Starting August 28, Xbox Game Pass subscribers can download the beta with no additional purchase required.

Open Beta: The open beta will be available to everyone from September 6 to September 9, with no purchase or subscription needed.

The beta will go live for those who pre-ordered the game on August 30, including Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers. This release follows Xbox’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, finalized on October 13, 2023. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be the first Call of Duty game to debut day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Additional Context:

Multi-Platform Availability: The beta is seen as a significant win for all gamers, alleviating concerns that Call of Duty might become an Xbox exclusive. Microsoft has committed to keeping Call of Duty on PlayStation through a multi-year agreement announced on July 16, 2023.

Previous Releases: Following the Activision Blizzard acquisition, Xbox saw a significant boost in gaming revenue. Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone joined Xbox Game Pass on July 24, 2024, as the first Call of Duty titles on the service.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to release on October 25, 2024, for PS5, Xbox, and PC, continuing the franchise’s tradition of high-octane multiplayer action.
