Fortnite Pirate Event Faces Issues, Epic Games Announces Fix

Epic Games has acknowledged that players are encountering problems with the new Pirates of the Caribbean event in Fortnite, leading to some issues with the Cursed Sails pass. This limited-time crossover event, which has captured players' imaginations with its pirate-themed content, has faced technical glitches affecting progress.

The Cursed Sails pass, introduced in July 2024, allows Fortnite players to unlock a variety of pirate-themed items through a series of quests. The event features both free and premium versions of the pass, with players tasked with completing Pirate Code quests. One notable reward is Jack's Ship glider, available to players who collect eight different map pieces.

However, some players have struggled with the quest to "Defeat a Dueling character with a pistol or melee weapon." In response, Epic Games has updated the pass, replacing this quest with a new one that simply requires players to collect gifts from characters.

Additionally, there have been reports of issues with tracking progress for Pirate Code Bonus Goals. Epic Games has assured players that as long as all eight map pieces are collected, the Jack's Ship glider will be added to their lockers. The Cursed Sails pass offers a total of 22 rewards—11 available for free and 11 for those who purchase the premium pass for 1,000 V-Bucks or $8.99 USD.

Fortnite's current Chapter 5 Season 3 update, titled Wrecked, focuses on vehicle combat and customization. The season is set to conclude on August 16, with the next season on the horizon.

Epic Games is actively addressing these issues to ensure that all players can fully enjoy the pirate-themed content of the Cursed Sails event.
