Supermassive Games’ Little Nightmares 3 is set to make a splash at Gamescom 2024, with a dedicated presentation during the Opening Night Live event. The world’s largest gaming event kicks off on August 20, and Little Nightmares 3 will join an impressive lineup that includes titles like Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, and Marvel Rivals.

The eerie and atmospheric horror game was first introduced at Gamescom 2023, and fans are eagerly awaiting more details. While the first two installments in the series were developed by Tarsier Studios, Supermassive Games is taking over development for Little Nightmares 3. The studio, known for its narrative-driven horror games like The Quarry and Until Dawn, previously released an Enhanced Edition of Little Nightmares 2.

Geoff Keighley, host of the 2024 Opening Night Live, announced on August 16 via Twitter that the upcoming event will feature a new trailer for Little Nightmares 3. The trailer is expected to shed light on how Supermassive Games’ fresh approach will influence the series. The Opening Night Live stream will begin at 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) and 11 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on August 20.

This news comes after a recent delay announcement for Little Nightmares 3, which is now scheduled for release in 2025. The delay, announced in late May, was attributed to the need for additional development time to ensure the game meets high quality standards and receives the "care and love it deserved."

In addition to Little Nightmares 3, Supermassive Games is expected to showcase other projects at Gamescom. A teaser from earlier in August hinted at a reveal for Project 8020, the first game of Season 2 for The Dark Pictures Anthology. The studio is also working on The Casting of Frank Stone, an offshoot of Dead by Daylight set to release on September 3.

Fans of the horror genre and the Little Nightmares series should stay tuned for the Opening Night Live event, where Supermassive Games promises to deliver more thrilling updates.
