McDonald’s and Pokémon are partnering once again for a special Happy Meal promotion themed around Pokémon Horizons: The Series. This new promotion celebrates the recent success of the Pokémon anime, which shifted focus from the beloved Ash Ketchum to new protagonists Liko and Roy, who explore the Paldea region from the 2022 games Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
The promotion will roll out in Japan in three waves, with each wave featuring a unique set of Pokémon-themed toys. The first wave begins on August 8 and runs until August 15. It includes a Captain Pikachu-themed spinning waterwheel, a Poke Ball watering can with a plastic Terrapagos figure, a toy shovel designed after the Grass-type starter Sprigatito, and a Fuecoco frisbee.
The second wave will run from August 16 to August 22, offering a new lineup of toys: a water-squirting Quaxly figure, a roller themed after Captain Pikachu, a toy telescope featuring a Sprigatito design, and a Poke Ball compass decorated with Fuecoco, Captain Pikachu, Quaxly, and Sprigatito.
The final wave will start on August 23, aiming to clear out remaining toys from the previous waves.
This collaboration continues a tradition of Pokémon Happy Meal promotions, which have included exclusive toys and limited-edition trading cards. Fans of the Pokémon series and McDonald’s collectors alike can look forward to these themed Happy Meals as they enjoy the new adventures of Liko and Roy in Pokémon Horizons: The Series.
