Esports events and production company PGL has announced a thrilling lineup of global tournaments set to take place in 2025 and 2026. The series of events will span six vibrant cities across two continents, featuring a substantial prize pool and promising to set new standards for esports competitions.
Event Details
PGL will host a total of 10 tournaments over the two-year period, each with a prize pool of $1.25 million (£940,000). The tournaments will occur in the following cities:
2025:
- February: PGL on FiRe Buenos Aires in Argentina
- April: PGL Bucharest in Romania
- May: PGL Astana in Kazakhstan
- October: PGL Belgrade in Serbia
2026:
- February: PGL Buenos Aires (return)
- April: PGL Bucharest (return)
- May: PGL Astana (return)
- October: PGL Sao Paulo in Brazil
- November: PGL Barcelona in Spain
Changes and Innovations
PGL’s announcement follows recent changes in Valve’s rules, which will no longer allow exclusive partnerships between teams and tournament organizers from 2025 onwards. Each PGL event will be independent, with no overlap in results between tournaments.
The series will feature a mix of new and returning locations, with PGL promising each event will be a standout occasion, aiming to elevate the esports experience for players and fans alike.
