Phantom Blade Zero Studio Denies Controversial Xbox Comments

S-GAME, the developer behind the highly anticipated action RPG Phantom Blade Zero, has recently clarified its stance on Xbox following some controversial comments attributed to one of its staff members.

On August 3, Brazilian website GamePlaysCassi reported that a Phantom Blade Zero developer made disparaging remarks about Xbox at the ChinaJoy 2024 expo in late July. According to the report, the unnamed developer said, "nobody needs" Xbox and criticized Microsoft's consoles for being less popular in Asia and for complicating development due to their two distinct models. These comments quickly sparked a backlash within the Xbox community.

In response to the growing controversy, S-GAME issued a statement a day later. The studio distanced itself from the comments, emphasizing that while such remarks might have been made, they do not reflect the company's values or culture. S-GAME clarified that it does not harbor any aversion to Xbox and is focused on making Phantom Blade Zero as accessible as possible.

The developer also hinted that the possibility of an Xbox port for Phantom Blade Zero is still on the table. Despite the initial controversy, S-GAME reassured fans that it is committed to exploring all potential avenues for bringing the game to a wider audience, including considering future ports to Xbox platforms.
