Riot Games reveals VCT OFF//SEASON 2024 schedule

As the VALORANT Champions 2024 tournament enters its final stage in Seoul, South Korea, Riot Games is keeping the competitive scene buzzing with the announcement of the VCT OFF//SEASON schedule. This offseason period will be packed with a variety of exciting events and tournaments designed to bridge the gap between the current and upcoming seasons.


Key Highlights of the VCT OFF//SEASON Schedule:

Ascension Tournaments:

In September, four regional Ascension tournaments will give top Challenger teams a shot at advancing to their respective International Leagues. The tournaments are:

VCT Ascension Americas: September 9th – 21st

VCT Ascension EMEA: August 31st – September 15th

VCT Ascension PACIFIC: September 20th – 29th

VCT Ascension China: September 11th – 21st


These events will be crucial for teams looking to secure their spots in the top tier of VALORANT competition.

New Challengers and Game Changers Events:

Riot Games is also introducing new Challenger tournaments to keep the competitive spirit alive. Additionally, the Game Changers World Championship will return, showcasing the best female VALORANT teams from around the globe. This year's championship will take place from November 8th to 17th at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, Germany.


OFF//SEASON Events:

Across four major regions—Pacific, EMEA, Americas, and China—Riot has planned a total of 34 OFF//SEASON events. Highlights include:

Pacific Region: Convergence 2024 (December 2nd – 8th), Red Bull Home Ground APAC Qualifier (October 19th – 20th)

EMEA Region: Red Bull Home Ground (November 20th – 23rd), Coastal Combat Main Event (December 3rd – 11th)

Americas Region: Sentinels Showmatch (October 9th and October 22nd), Ludwig x Tarik Invitational 3 (October 12th – 13th)

China Region: Shanghai Esports Masters (December 6th – 7th), East Asia Tri-Cup (November 21st – December 1st)


Promotion System Changes:

Looking ahead to next year, Riot Games has announced significant changes to the promotion system, including the removal of the fixed two-year term for Ascension teams and capping each league to 12 teams. These changes are aimed at increasing competition and ensuring a more dynamic league structure.


Viewership Insights:

As the playoffs for VCT Champions 2024 begin on August 14th, the tournament has already seen a peak viewership of 768,051 and an average viewership of 373,719. While current numbers are slightly lower than last year, the presence of teams from each VCT league is expected to boost viewership in the coming days.


With a packed schedule of tournaments and events, the VCT OFF//SEASON promises to offer plenty of action for VALORANT fans worldwide, keeping the excitement alive until the start of the new season.
