Soniqs has etched its name into the annals of Esports World Cup history with a commanding performance at the Esports World Cup: PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Out of 24 global teams, the North American squad emerged victorious, securing the championship with a total of 103 points in the Grand Finals.
Soniqs’ Path to Victory
Soniqs earned their spot at the EWC: PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS by finishing 1st in the Americas Qualifier for the Esports World Cup 2024. They entered the tournament as one of the eight teams in Group A.
During the Group Stage, Soniqs finished 9th overall with 78 points, ranking third in their group behind The Expendables and Danawa e-sports. Despite a solid showing, the team faced an uphill battle in the Grand Finals.
However, Soniqs turned up the heat in the final rounds. They won 25% of the matches, clinching three Chicken Dinners in Rounds 1, 7, and 8. Their aggressive gameplay and tactical precision resulted in 60 kills, the fourth-highest total in the Grand Finals. This impressive performance propelled them to the top spot, crowning them the champions of the tournament.
The victory at EWC: PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS marks Soniqs’ first S-tier championship of the year and their ninth top-level victory since the team’s formation in 2019.

While the MVP award went to Pedro "sparkingg" Ribeiro of TSM, Soniqs’ dominant performance was undeniable. The team received accolades from American DJ and producer Steve Aoki, highlighting their exceptional achievement.
The prize pool for Esports World Cup: PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS was $2,000,000 USD, with Soniqs taking home the largest share—$700,000. Additionally, Soniqs earned 1,000 EWC Club Championship Points, placing them in a ten-way tie for 11th place with other notable teams such as XSET, Team Redline, Selangor Red Giants, Omega Esports, Luna Galaxy, KPL Dream Team, Crazy Raccoon, Alpha7 Esports, and Alliance.
