The inaugural Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, has seen its fair share of thrilling matches and razor-thin victories this summer. However, Esports World Cup: ESL R1 was a different narrative altogether, with Team Redline establishing themselves as the standout performers of the event.

Team Redline’s Path to Victory

Team Redline set the bar exceptionally high throughout the EWC: ESL R1. From the very start, they demonstrated their dominance in both the group stage and the grand finals.

In the Group Stage, Team Redline led the pack with an impressive 175 points. They left their closest competitors, Team Vitality, trailing by nearly 50 points—Vitality accumulated 126 points. The disparity was even more pronounced with the 6th place team from Group A, BS+COMPETITION, who managed only 76 points.

The dominance continued into the Grand Finals. Starting with a solid 100 points, Team Redline was already 28 points ahead of the second-seed Team Vitality. They ended the grand finals with a staggering 300 points, outpacing their rivals significantly. Team Vitality finished with 150 points, followed by MOUZ with 130 points, Williams Esports with 108 points, Porsche Coanda Esports Racing Team with 105 points, and Guild Esports with 77 points.

Team Redline’s performance in the grand finals was marked by three 1st place finishes. Their consistency was key—they never fell outside of the top 4 and only once finished outside of the top 3.

Redline’s Triumph in the Driver Championship

Team Redline’s success extended beyond the team championship. The Driver Championship was similarly dominated by Redline drivers, with three of the top four positions being claimed by their squad. Kevin Siggy clinched the gold, while Sebastian Job and Luke Bennett secured 2nd and 4th places, respectively.

ESL R1 Prize Pool and Legacy

For their exceptional performance, Team Redline will take home $140,000 from the $500,000 Team Championship prize pool. Their top drivers also contributed significantly to the Driver Championship prize pool, securing $53,000 of the total $500,000.

In addition to their financial rewards, Team Redline has earned 1,000 Club Championship Points, positioning them in a ten-way tie for 11th place with notable teams such as XSET, Soniqs, Selangor Red Giants, Omega Esports, Luna Galaxy, KPL Dream Team, Crazy Raccoon, Alpha7 Esports, and Alliance.

Team Redline’s commanding performance at the Esports World Cup: ESL R1 has solidified their place in esports history, showcasing their unrivaled consistency and skill across the competition.
