YouTube Bans IShowSpeed After Controversial Sports Car Stunt

YouTube sensation Darren Jason Watkins Jr., better known as IShowSpeed, has been banned from the platform following a recent sports car stunt that allegedly breached the site’s Community Guidelines. Known for his high-energy and sometimes chaotic content, IShowSpeed’s ban comes as a significant interruption to his streaming activities.

IShowSpeed, who boasts over 27 million subscribers on YouTube, is famous for his gaming and IRL streams, often featuring high-risk antics and unpredictable scenarios. His recent stunt, which involved jumping over two speeding sports cars—a Lamborghini and a McLaren—during a livestream, reportedly triggered the ban. The video, which has since been removed from his channel, drew criticism for potentially endangering lives and violating community standards.

On August 5, IShowSpeed’s editor shared a screenshot on Twitter showing that YouTube had issued a strike against the channel for violating its guidelines. This latest ban comes on the heels of previous controversies, including a $50,000 bill for repairing damage caused during a fan mob in Europe last month, and earlier bans from platforms like PlayStation and Twitch.

Following the ban, IShowSpeed addressed his fans in a video, saying, “Hey guys, if y’all are watching this right now, I’m banned on YouTube on my main channel. I cannot stream or do anything, guys. I just wanted to let y’all know. I love y’all.” While his channel remains accessible, no new content will be posted during the ban period. Reports indicate that Speed is appealing the ban, but there have been no updates on its resolution.

This isn’t the first time IShowSpeed has faced platform restrictions. Last year, Twitch lifted his permanent ban, though his return to Twitch seems unlikely given his current focus on YouTube. Despite the setback, IShowSpeed’s strong social media presence and dedicated fanbase continue to support him as he navigates this latest challenge.
