Indian esports tournament organizer Skyesports has unveiled its plans for the 2025 competitive season of its Counter-Strike circuit. The upcoming season will feature four international events with a combined prize pool of $1.75 million (approximately £1.33 million).
Among these events, three will be classified as tier one under Valve’s new rules and rankings. Skyesports, a leading name in Indian and Asian esports, is known for its Counter-Strike tournaments such as the Skyesports Championship and Skyesports Masters. This new series is part of the company’s vision to build globally recognized esports IPs in India.
The 2025 Counter-Strike season will kick off with the Skyesports Souvenir 2025 in February, offering a prize pool of $250,000 (around £190,270). Following this, the Skyesports Masters 2025 will take place in late May and early June. The Skyesports Championship is scheduled for September, and the season will conclude with the Skyesports World Tour in November.
Each of the three tier one events will feature eight teams and boast a prize pool of $500,000 (approximately £380,550). These events meet Valve’s criteria for tier one status, promising high-level competition and international participation.
Shiva Nandy, Founder and CEO of Skyesports, expressed enthusiasm about the 2025 season, stating: “Our vision since inception in 2018 was to create indigenous IPs and bring international players and teams to India. The 2025 CS2 esports roadmap is a testament to that as we will be hosting all four events in India, with global teams participating. These tournaments will not only strengthen Skyesports’ position as a global esports brand but also showcase India as a crucial market for world-class international esports events.”
In addition to Counter-Strike, Skyesports also organizes events for other popular titles, such as Battlegrounds Mobile: India, further solidifying its role as a major player in the esports landscape.
